Lemper is a savory snack from Indonesia made by stuffing glutinous rice with either seasoned shredded chicken, fish, or abon (meat floss) which is then rolled in a banana leaf or tinfoil and by doing so, it is transformed into a perfectly packaged snack. The chicken-filled lemper version is called lemper ayam, while other versions. Lemper is perhaps the best Indonesian snack I know. But this sticky rice snack must be part of this blog.

Lemper is one of the most favored of recent trending foods in the world. It’s easy, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. It is enjoyed by millions every day. Lemper is something which I have loved my whole life. They are fine and they look fantastic.

To get started with this particular recipe, we have to prepare a few components. You can cook lemper using 25 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Lemper:
  1. Prepare Rice
  2. Prepare 125 gr glutinous rice (soaked overnight)
  3. Make ready 150 ml coconut milk
  4. Take 2 pandan leaves
  5. Take 2 lime leaves
  6. Take 2 bay leaves

  8. Prepare Spices paste (grind until smooth)

  20. Get 2 lime leaves
  21. Make ready 2 bay leaves
  22. Prepare 150 ml coconut milk

  24. Get 2 banana leaves
  25. Get Baking paper

The meat filling is rolled inside the rice, in a fashion similar to an egg roll; this is in turn rolled and wrapped inside a banana leaf, oil paper, plastic sheet or. Cook the glutinous rice and white rice with coconut milk and bay leaves until the water runs out. Puree shallot, garlic, ginger and candlenut, ginger, turmeric and give a little oil. Then add the chicken meat, sugar, salt, pepper, Worcester sauce and bay.

Steps to make Lemper:
  1. Prepare steamer. In a pan, put the glutinous rice in without oil, then add coconut milk. Put the pandan, lime, and bay leaves in. Season with salt and let it absorb.
  2. Put a baking paper on the steamer then steam the glutinous rice for about 45 minutes.
  3. Heat a pan, fry the paste until fragrant, then add the shredded chicken in. Put lime and bay leaves and season to taste. Set it aside.
  4. When the rice is cooked, remove all the leaves. Then, directly put it on a tray. Arrange the chicken in the middle, and add more rice on the top.
  5. There are some ways to serve. Make an oval mixture then cover it with banana leaves, or just cut it small like I did.

Puree shallot, garlic, ginger and candlenut, ginger, turmeric and give a little oil. Then add the chicken meat, sugar, salt, pepper, Worcester sauce and bay. Take half of the glutinous rice, spread evenly and press. Add all the chicken floss, spread evenly, and press again. Take another half of the rice, spread evenly, and press again.
