Arrange the mangos on top of the rice. Put rice in a bowl and rinse several times in cold water until water is clear, not milky, then drain. Mango sticky rice (khao neow mamuang / ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง) is an amazing and authentic Thai dessert. It is typical street food in Thailand, especially during summer, when mango is in season.

Instructions to make Mango Sticky Rice:
  1. Wash and soak the glutinous rice in water for overnight or at least 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  2. Boil water in a steamer, and pour rice inside of cheesecloth and place in steamer covered. Steam for about 15-20 minutes. Check if the glutinous rice is already tender or not, if not steam for a little bit longer. It should be chewy not mushy. Transfer to the bowl and let it cool.
  3. Meanwhile in a saucepan combine the coconut milk, sugar, and pinch of salt. Bring it to slight boil and sugar dissolves. Turned off the heat and pour half of the coconut mixture into sticky rice, stir well. Let it cool and soak for about 10-15minutes.
  4. Peel mango and slices it into a bite size pieces. Scoop some warm sticky rice into each serving bowl or plate. Arrange mango slices on the side or on top of rice or as you like to arranged it. Drizzling more coconut sauce over the rice. Enjoy!
